Special thanks to Complete Media for hooking us up with this job for the Washington Pavilion here in Sioux Falls. The video component was just a piece of a much larger rebranding effort by the Pavilion. Passenger handled the concepting, production and post production on this project.

We produced this primarily for the OTA sessions held last week here in Sioux Falls. We liked the idea of telling a short story before rolling out our work.... as we claim to tell stories well.

It was shot using the 5d with Zeiss prime lenses. The showreel footage near the end was shot using 5d, 7d, Panasonic HPX, Panasonic DVX 100b, and an Olympus high speed camera. The graphic and animation work accomplished with a mix of Illustrator, AE, and Motion.

Our friends at The Deep Bench ad firm approached us about producing three videos for a non-profit client of theirs. We collaborated on the concept and handled all aspects of production and post production. After a two day shoot we edited the three vignettes and delivered final product to be used for the clients fund and awareness raising needs in promoting their various programs.

Passenger Productions brings an uncommon voice to the video and film industry. While options are plentiful for "vendors", opportunities are few for true "partners." We worked with PP on this project because we wanted to work with someone who had a vision for something new in the charitable space while also willing to work within our tight budget. They delivered successfully on both of these objectives.

We worked with the client, Complete Media, to produce a thirty second T.V. spot for a regional cancer center. Working with Complete Media we developed the concept, story boards, script, and handled principle and post production.

On a semi consistent basis we produce short films to keep us sharp as creative professionals. It's kind of like our own miniature lab were we get to experiment with different looks and ways of telling a story. These short experiments help hone our skills so we can efficiently and effectively work with clients, meeting their creative needs. Our podcast series in 2008 focused on place and landscape while the 2009 series will focus more on people.

We were approached by NWC to produce an admissions video for the school that showcased their standards of excellence while still being relevant to a younger audience. Working closely with the school and shooting over a five month period we were able to capture not only the pertinent information about the school but also the vibe that makes NWC such a great school.

Our students picked Passenger Productions from a selection of
demos--they called PP's work authentic, edgy and real. One student said, "I watch their stuff, and I believe them"--high praise from an
inherently skeptical teenager. We wanted to tell a story rather than
sell a product, and PP helped us do that. They were professional,
accommodating and enhanced our vision with their own creative
suggestions. The result, "Real.Northwestern.", has been called
"awesome," "amazing" and "wickedly brilliant" by viewers. Teens love it; even their parents are impressed.

Last month Youth Specialties asked us to produce some spots hi-lighting their YS One Day conferences being held around the country starting in the spring of 2009. After getting the feel for what the client was looking for we took their ideas handling the project from pre-production all the way to delivery, on time and on budget. Besides being posted on their website and other viral/email outlets they aired at the three YS national conventions and are being met with a positive response. Above is the long form piece we did as well as one of the three comedy viral spots.

Working with Passenger was a great experience. Everything from the initial brainstorms to the contract to filming to delivery was seamless. They took my seedling of an idea and delivered videos that were so much more than I expected. They understood my context, my audience, and my goals, with little input from me. They're creative and fun and will definitely be used again.

Reflecting on India

Last year The RCA asked us to produce a video to explore their work in India. This is a montage of clips taken out of the final product delivered to the client. The production on this was very lean with just one shooter using motivated lighting. We traveled extensively throughout south India over a thirteen day period. We delivered the final 5 minute piece via full authored DVD that the client is currently using around the country raising awareness for its missions program in India.

Passenger Productions captured well the approach we wanted to take to our video, the project came in on time and at a cost that was more than reasonable. I certainly recommend them.
